Kelly’s lifelong love for horses became a thriving business when she purchased a ranch north of Austin, Texas, in 1999. What started as a boarding and riding lesson facility soon evolved into a sanctuary for healing—both for horses and humans. While rehabilitating neglected and traumatized horses through rescue organizations, Kelly also expanded her work to include breeding Arabian sport horse crosses, directing summer camps, and helping horse owners strengthen their relationships with their horses.
From nutrition and pain management to tack fit, training, and emotional connection, Kelly’s mission has always been clear: to nurture the powerful bond between humans and horses.

In 2013, Kelly sought to understand why horses had such a profound calming and confidence-boosting effect on her clients. This quest led her to study the human brain, nervous system, and trauma-informed care. She began her certification journey with the Natural Lifemanship Institute, deepening her knowledge of neuroscience, trauma healing, and spirituality. Today, as a dedicated lifelong learner, Kelly is training to become a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, further expanding her expertise in nervous system regulation and trauma recovery.
In 2014, Kelly had the unique opportunity to intern with Tim Jobe, co-founder of the Natural Lifemanship Institute, at an equine-assisted mental health facility serving children in the foster care system. Collaborating with multiple therapists, she witnessed the life-changing impact of equine therapy for children as young as three.
Inspired by this experience, Kelly transformed her own ranch into an equine-assisted mental health facility in 2015. Since then, she has partnered with 16 licensed therapists and continues her impactful work in Colorado. With thousands of hours dedicated to equine-assisted therapy, she provides a safe, compassionate space for individuals of all ages to heal, build resilience, and rediscover inner peace.
Through years of studying mindfulness, neuroscience, and spirituality, Kelly developed the PIE Method, an innovative approach that integrates horses, presence, and heart-centered awareness to facilitate deep healing. This trauma-informed method rewires the brain by forming new neural pathways, helping clients break free from unhealthy patterns and emotional cycles.
During the pandemic, Kelly adapted her work to include virtual coaching, allowing individuals to experience the transformative power of equine-assisted learning remotely—with remarkable results.
Through her work, Kelly teaches clients:
*The difference between feelings, emotions, and sensations
*How to regulate their nervous system for better emotional balance
*How to break free from reactionary patterns that damage relationships and overall well-being
If you’re ready to heal, grow, and reconnect—Kelly is here to guide you.
